R-MESH Camera
R-MESH Camera
Overview
R‑MESH cameras are a typical application of R‑MESH for extending Wi‑Fi coverage. When a camera is located outside the AP’s signal range, it can connect to the AP via R‑Mesh’s relay mechanism, enabling wider‑area monitoring. At the same time, R‑Mesh offers extremely efficient data forwarding, delivering a low‑latency, high‑quality video communication experience.
Case Demonstration
As shown in the figure, three cameras are simultaneously aimed at a clock and upload their footage via Wi‑Fi to a display for real‑time viewing. One camera connects directly to the Wi‑Fi AP, while the other two connect to the AP via an R‑Mesh root node acting as a relay:
As illustrated in the animation, the clock is on the right, and the display on the left simultaneously shows the real‑time views captured by the three cameras of that clock. It can be seen that the two R‑Mesh cameras relayed to the AP exhibit virtually no latency difference compared with the camera directly connected to the AP, and playback is equally smooth, fully showcasing R‑Mesh’s outstanding forwarding efficiency:
Advantages
R‑Mesh performs data forwarding efficiently at the low-level driver layer, resulting in extremely short forwarding delays. It is well‑suited for real‑time video communication, delivering smooth playback with minimal stutter.
R-Mesh reduces cabling requirements, making it ideal for rapid deployment in temporary or complex environments, and easily meeting large‑area video communication needs.
The R‑Mesh network automatically optimizes its topology according to the environment, with fast and seamless adjustments that do not affect video communication quality.
